Youngsters get chance to star in Diss panto

The Christmas panto season may seem a long way off but plans are already taking shape for the Diss show with talented local youngsters getting the chance to star.
Producers LP Creatives are set to hold auditions in the town later this month for youngsters to join the cast of Robin Hood.
The professional company has enjoyed success in recent years re-establishing the annual festive tradition at Diss Corn Hall including last year's production of Dick Whittington.
The Sherwood Forest adventures of Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men against the dastardly plan of the Sheriff of Nottingham to capture not only the finest archer in the land and the heart of Maid Marion will be staged from December 20-30.
Producers are seeking talented dancers aged between seven and 16. Candidates must have good dance skills and a strong stage presence, but while singing and drama experience is desireable it is not essential. Registration starts at 11am with auditions until 1pm. Meanwhile the company are also seeking local households will to put up members of the panto cast. They will need a bedroom with access to a bathroom and kitchen facilities from December 6-30 and pay rent of £100 per week, plus free panto tickets thrown in.
