Review: What did we think of Diss Gig in the Park?

I have worked in Diss for nearly two years now and, except for the carnival, I have never seen the town bouncing as it was at Gig in the Park last night.
Although I have been reporting on the lead up to Diss’ first music festival I did not know what to expect when I entered the park.
But it had been transformed with a large main stage, pirate DJ booth and Mere Stage with food stalls, stores and a bar.
With music from midday there was always music playing at one of the stages with a wide-range of styles.
A highlight was Pretty Ace, an all girl rock band, and Nebula Sun who provide a smooth set to relax too in the evening warmth, on The Mere stage.
Being the first music festival Diss has seen the organisers went all out on the acts and The Blockheads, despite some early technical glitches, rounded off the Saturday in style.
Looking around the park in seemed the whole of Diss had come out to dance as I could just see people of all ages from the stage all the way to the back of the park.
Festival goer Jake Lambert said: “I really enjoyed the festival, it had a great atmosphere with some fantastic acts across all the stages, especially The Blockheads.
”I hope that Gig in the Park becomes an annual event as its a great reason to return to Diss.”
Heres hoping that Gig in the Park will return for another year.
