Everything you need to know about Gig in the Park 2018

With Diss Gig in the Park kicking off on Friday, July 27 - Sunday, July 29 here is everything that you need to know before the big weekend.

Gig in the Park is being held in the Main Town Park next to the Mere. Entrances to the gig are found along Park Road and towards the top end of Denmark Street.

Getting there and parking

There is no parking on site but there are a number of carparks around Diss. Car parks are located in Chapel Street and Mount Street.

The train station is a 20 minute walk to Gig in the Park down Victoria Road. The train from Norwich takes 17 minutes and runs every half-hour.

Diss bus station is located opposite the park. Check local bus service websites for routes near you and timings.


Although the festival runs for three days there is no camping on site. There are two campsites near-by with Swattesfied Campsite a 20 minute drive away in Thornham Magna, and Willows Campsite a five minute drive away in Scole.


Tickets can be bought online or at the gate. There are a range of tickets on offer including single day tickets and weekend tickets.

They can be bought through the Gig in the Park site for between £10-£25, with the ticket being emailed to you or at a slightly higher price on the gate. Children 13-years-old and younger go free and festival goers can leave and return to the site as they please.

Disabled Access

The site is disabled friendly although it is still a parkland. Disabled toilets are on site and there has been efforts to make the whole site available.

Music and timings

With two stages hosting more than 40 acts music will start on Friday, July 27 at 6pm and go through to 11.30pm.

Music restarts on Saturday, July 28 at 12pm through to 11.30pm and on Sunday, July 29 music starts at 12pm and finishes at 10.30pm.

Food and drink

Alcohol is not allowed to be taken on stie but soft drinks and picnics are allowed. Revellers are encouraged to support the event by purchasing food and drink from the many stalls and bars on offer.


Dogs are allowed into Gig in the Park but must be kept on a short lease and be well behaved. Badly behaved dogs may be asked to be removed.
