It has become a word-of-mouth West End hit and now the musical Everybody's Talking About Jamie has proved so popular with Diss that it is getting a second screening.
A performance of the show was screened at Diss Corn Hall last month as part of a live broadcast to more than 500 cinemas.
It proved so popular with the local audience that a second screening has now been arranged by popular demand.
The musical tells the story of a boy who wants to go to his school prom in a dress - based on a true story first told in the BBC3 documentary called Jamie: Drag Queen at 16.
Jamie is 16 and lives on a council estate in Sheffield. Supported by his loving mum and surrounded by his friends, Jamie overcomes prejudice, beats the bullies and steps out into the spotlight.
The show opened at Sheffield’s Crucible theatre last year before transferring to Shaftesbury Avenue’s Apollo Theatre and it has won huge acclaim and a cult following.
Clare Robinson, Corn Hall operations manager, said: “Those who attended our screening in July loved this so much that they wanted to see it again and to tell all their friends to come along too!”
