Buckets and spades at the ready as families are set to enjoy all the fun of the beach at a new event in Diss Park.
Diss Mere may not have its own sandy shoreline but Fun in the Sun 2019 on July 20 promises to make the most of it with lots of beach-themed fun.
The free event is being organised by the Rotary Club of Diss & District and Park Radio and is designed to make up for gaps in the summer calendar left by Diss Fest, Gig in the Park and Diss Organ Festival, which are all not happening this year.
A giant sand pit will bring the seaside to the centre of the town, will the fun-packed day will also feature seaside pier style peep boards, circus clowns, lots of games, stalls, fire engine, police car, food and drink, bouncy castle and more. Live music will feature singer-songwriter Anna Carter, Norfolk classic rock band Back Street and Ipswich jazz outfit Swervy World.
All profit from the event, taking place between 3pm and 9pm, will be equally divided between charities Pancreatic Cancer, The Samaritans, Dove Dementia Cafe and Genesis Housing.
