Its members can be seen rambling through the South Norfolk countryside but now Diss Health Walks are seeking a hiker will to step in to help out.

Formerly known as Walking For Health, the group is run by co-leaders Becky Whatley and Tim Moyle.

Becky said: "For those who are not yet fit, or recovering from surgery or having pain, we usually have a second leader who walks at the back, going the pace of the slowest walker. Recently Tim has taken on that role, but he is retiring from our group at the end of October. We hope to find a member of the group to take his place, so we can ensure we cater for all abilities."

The group meet at 10.30am on Thursdays; one week at the pavilion in Diss Park, the alternate week at a place outside Diss. Previous walks have taken in Winfarthing, Burston, Redgrave and Lopham Fen and Eye.

Walk lists can be found at Diss Library and Health Centre, and the notice boards of Morrisons and Tescos. The walks are free, and there is no need to book in advance.
