Remember when Sinbad the Sailor and his incredible adventures taking in catastrophic shipwrecks, far-off lands and mythical beasts was the festive show in Diss?
In 1993 the Mere Players performed a special panto version of the Sinbad the Sailor story.
Based in Diss, the Mere Players have been performing costume dramas, hilarious farces, plays, musical revues, musicals and pantomime for well over 30 years.
The society was formed in 1974. Since that two, and at times three, productions have been presented each year. They have taken on everything from Little Shop of Horrors to Shadowlands, Santa and The Vikings to Jack The Ripper.
But were you Sinbad or one of his band of salty sea-dogs on an adventure to find the greatest treasure of all? Or did you see the show. Tell us your memories in the comments below…
