Cared for by the Diss Community Woodland project, Quaker Wood, in Factory Lane, Roydon, is a community woodland which is regularly maintained by team of volunteers.

Throughout the year volunteers hold working parties, which involve amongst other tasks, planting new trees, hedge trimming and cutting the wildflower meadow using the traditional hand tools such as scythes.

The first working party of the month will be held on June 2, followed by another on Wednesday, June 20, on each day there will be the opportunity for volunteers to brush up on their scything skills ahead of the meadow cutting later in the year.

In July, the project will hold its annual barbecue, taking place on Friday, July 13 the evening event will offer a chance for volunteers to reflect on what has been achieved in the past year.
