Park Radio, which broadcasts to Diss and the surrounding town and villages, has been nominated in three categories of the South Norfolk Community Awards.
Launched in November 2017, it has quickly become part of the community with its 24/7 service as part of its five year Ofcom obligation to provide a quality uber-local radio service.
Based at the Diss Youth and Community Centre with a team that comprises 46 volunteers, the station is up for community group of the year, business community champion and volunteer of the year.
Its community events have included a Christmas Party in aid of the Diss Children's Centre; "Be Seen, Be Safe" initiative with local schools prompting children to create art on the theme of road safety; and the station's own litter pick event.
Later this year it is teaming up with Diss & District Rotary Club to stage a free Fun in the Sun family event in aid of local and national charities in Diss Park on July 20.
Station manager Chris Moyse said: "To be nominated is great in itself, but to be a winner would be special for everyone involved at the station, who all give up so much of their free time."
