Community groups are being urged to grab their litter grabbers and help keep their local area looking spick-and-span by taking part in the annual clean-up.
South Norfolk Council is offering either individuals or groups all the equipment they need to participate in the Big Litter Pick 2019.
Each spring, the authority works with communities to help reduce litter across South Norfolk by asking them to take part in the initiative running until May that encourages communities to work together to keep their villages or towns clean and tidy.
In the 2018 Big Litter Pick initiative, 96 litter picks took place with over 2,000 volunteers involved.
Many town and villages already have regular litter groups. The Nature & Nurture group in Diss recently undertook a big clear out removing everything from street signs to old bicycles by the River Waveney along the path behind Morrison’s and Tesco.
The council will provides litter pickers, hi-vis vests and bags. The list and amount of equipment available can be confirmed at the time of booking. For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org
