Nearly £2.25 million worth of property went under the hammer today at Brown & Co’s summer auction at the Assembly House in Norwich including a former hardware store in Harleston. See here for all the results.

Almost £2.25 million worth of property went under the hammer today at Brown & Co’s summer auction in Norwich with 13 lots sold out of 18, a 70 per cent success rate.

Peter Hornor, chartered surveyor and auctioneer, said after the sale held at the Assembly House: “There were a number of notable results and we look forward to our September sale and are already putting the lots together for that auction.”

A star property was the last lot, Shangri-La in Congham, a detached bungalow, which sold for well over the guide price of between £120,000-£140,000, the hammer coming down at £236,000. Another lot attracting interest was number 11; 1, The Thoroughfare, Harleston, a Grade II listed building, formerly a hardware store occupied by G Denny & Sons. It was for sale for a guide price of between £195,000-£220,000 and sold for £237,500.

A property requiring renovation on Mount Pleasant in Norwich, did not sell, however, and is still available to buy for a guide price of between £450,000-£495,000.
