People are being invited to join the charity walk along Boudicca Way on April 6 to help raise hundreds of pounds for a brand-new breast cancer unit at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital.

Organiser Danielle Naulls, 30, was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago and is now in remission.

She said: “Finding out I could have breast cancer was terrifying, but due to my circumstances, I was given same-day diagnosis. This is not something that the NNUH can currently guarantee everybody due to the volume of people being referred.”

The NNUH is currently trying to raise £800,000 through the Boudicca Appeal to build a dedicated Breast Cancer Unit, enabling quicker diagnosis and quicker treatment.

Danielle said: “My friends, family and colleagues walked the Boudicca Way when I was undergoing treatment to support me and raised £1,225 for Cancer Research.

“At the time, I was too ill to walk the route, but this year, I am hoping to complete the 36 miles and I would like as many people as possible to walk it with me or to donate.

“You can walk as little or as much as you’d like, or walk part of it as a relay with friends or colleagues.”

The walk will start at Diss Train Station at 8am and finishing at Riverside in Norwich.

Anyone interested in joining can email Danielle at daniellenaulls88@gmail.com or for more information, search for the Boudicca Way Walk Facebook page.

Sponsorship for all walkers is currently being collected at the Just Giving page
