Diss Rugby Football club are searching for historical material.

Old match reports and photographs of old players or teams, social gatherings and tours are some of the things the 60-year-old club would like to look it gathers historical items and stories.

“Anecdotal” material is also asked for, but will need verification.

Alan Gittins said: “The history of this club is important for future members and we as a club have tried to collate as much material as we can, but we need more.

“In fact anything which will give readers and anyone interested a taste of the rich history of Diss RFC and the characters it has attracted and still attracts (you be the judge on what constitutes “history” and I will look at how it fits into the final media).

“At this moment in time we are undecided on how the final History of Diss RFC will look, it could be a dedicated website or it could be a downloadable PDF ebook, or if you have any ideas please let me know.”

To contribute, email agitdesigns@btinternet.com or drop off material at the clubhouse with Sue English.

Those who cannot scan photographs and send them electronically can send them to be scanned and returned at: Diss RFC, Mackenders, Bellrope Lane, Roydon, Diss, Norfolk IP22 5RG.
