A sporting organisation that has raised more than £30,000 for its local charities has announced the charity that will benefit from its events in 2019.

Diss Cyclathon will support mental health charity Norwich MIND for its fourth year.

A statement on the Diss Cyclathon Facebook page said: “So many people start riding to get fitter but stay riding because of the amazing benefits it gives you to your mental health and wellbeing. We’re hoping to work closely with Mind to get that message out there.”

The popular cycling event and family fun day was confirmed to take place again on June 23 in December.

The day that this year saw more than 1,000 people take to the country lanes around Diss and enjoy the cycling-related entertainment in the town’s park beside Diss Mere was recently named ‘Best Cycling Event’ at Cycling UK’s volunteer awards.
