The bunting is up and preparations are in the final stages ahead of one of the most anticipated events in the Diss calender and with less than one week to go until the big day, here’s everything you need to know the Diss Carnival 2018.

What is Diss Carnival?

Diss carnival is an annual celebration of all things Diss. Taking place on Sunday, June 10, this will be the 11th time the carnival has come to Diss and will this year have the theme of Water Wonderland, inspired by one of Diss most cherished landmarks, the Mere.

What time does it start?

The carnival will kick off at 12.30pm when the procession will depart from Diss High School and travel towards the town through Mount Street, the Market Place and Mere Street before completing its journey in the park. Where the fun day activities will start at 1pm.

Start the day off by watching the carnival procession complete with ‘Water Wonderland’ floats travel though the town on its way to the park where there will be a whole host of activities throughout the afternoon.

From 1.20pm in Diss Park various groups and performers including the ACD Arts Dancers and the Vibe City Street Dancers will take to the arena stage to entertain spectators and keep the carnival atmosphere going. Dog lovers will be able to enter their prized pooches into a Fun Dog Show at 1.20pm and 4pm, whilst those who are feeling active will have the opportunity to partake in the carnival games and go head to head in a tug of war, game of human hungry hippos or a water relay race.

There will also be donkey rides, a Jedi Academy, wildlife displays and a fun fair.

Visit the carnival website for everything you need to know ahead of Sunday, June 10, and on the day tune into Park Radio, 107.6FM which from 1pm will be broadcasting live from the carnival with regular updates and announcements.
