A local author who has signed a digital two book deal has been researching her latest project at TW Gaze auctioneers in Diss.
Jenni Keer, who lives at Stoke Ash, near Eye, has signed a digital two book deal with Avon Books UK, part of Harper Collins, and the first novel, The Hopes and Dreams of Lucy Baker, is due out January 2019.
The story follows the special friendship between Lucy and her elderly neighbour Brenda – an eccentric but kind lady and explores how the pair cope very differently with Brenda’s early dementia diagnosis.
All Jenni’s novels are based in the East Anglia with her second book, already underway and due out later next year, set in a fictional Suffolk auction house. Research for the project however has been done over the border in Diss.
“TW Gaze in Diss have been fantastic with research help and inspiration,” she said. “I love this part of the world and, having lived in Suffolk for 20 years, I champion East Anglia in all my work.”
An active member of the Romantic Novelists’ Association, Jenni’s books also includes romance. “I’m a fan of the happy ever after and my books follow what I call the “Four Weddings” formula; laughs, tears and a girl who always gets her man.”
Jenni began penning her first novel as a stay-at-home mum to four boisterous sons. “It was a survival tactic. I was surrounded by a lot of blue and a lot of emotion. Writing became a way to escape into a fantasy world, one where I didn’t have to sing endless nursery rhymes and wipe wriggling bottoms.”
The Hopes and Dreams of Lucy Baker is available for pre-order from Amazon.
