Diss and District Horticultural Society puts on a colourful display

Colourful displays and the aroma of spring flowers greeted visitors to a village hall over the weekend as a horticultural society held its annual spring show.
On Saturday, April 7, Roydon Village Hall was transformed into a colourful array of daffodils and produce displays by members of Diss and District Horticultural Society.
Both established and new members of the society exhibited their flowers with Roly Copping winning the Hammond Cup for most points gained in the event.
Other members who did well included; Albert Gillingwater, Diss WI, Greta Sturgeon and Mr R Earl, who won of the Alfred Memorial Cup for his daffodil display.
Society chairman Greta Sturgeon said “I’m pleased with the quality of entries on show, especially in the daffodil classes. It was also nice to see some new members winning prizes this year too.”
The society’s next meeting will be on Tuesday, April 10 in Diss United Reformed Church at 7.30pm
