Festive shoppers are being offered two hours free parking in the run up to Christmas in a bid to boost trade and create some seasonal spirit.
South Norfolk Council is to offer two hours free parking on the four Saturdays in the run up to Christmas Day.
The move to get more people to enjoy Christmas shopping on South Norfolk high streets will see charges waived for the first two hours in all of the South Norfolk-owned car parks in Diss, allowing us to do our market town shopping, and enjoy the festive entertainment.
The offer will apply on December 1, 8, 15 and 22 at the car parks on Park Road, Chapel Street (Lower), Chapel Street (Upper), Church Street, Weavers Court, Mount Street, Shelfanger Road East and Shelfanger Road West.
Christmas festivities will get into full swing in the town on November 24 with the Diss Christmas Lights Switch-On.
Proving it’s the season to be jolly the Market Place will be the place to soak up the festive atmosphere. Entertainment from 2.30pm will include live music, fairground rides, lots of stalls and fun for all. The big switch on will take place at 5pm.
